FURTHER COMET LANDINGS AS PROBE WAR HEATS UP

The Mobian Space Agency has launched their fifteenth probe in the Tulip series in the battle to control the comet 6TC/Whatabigcomet. "Probe War" started when the MSA's first drone arrived and found a space Badnik coming down at the same time, attempting to knock the comet off course into Mobius itself. Despite the risk, Tulip head Dr Scalor has said they have it well in hand and nobody should panic. Robotnik told the press that he'd be crashing the comet down on us on Christmas Day.

TROOP MOVEMENTS IN COAL CREEK ZONE

Ocean Falls Zone have warned of "rather bizarre" troop build-ups in the notorious Coal Creek, one half of the Co-Prosperity Zones run by Nack the Weasel. The famous supervillain took control of Coal Creek Zone and Diamond Fjord Zone years ago, claiming to be liberating the weasels of the conquered fjord but actually planning it as a power base.

Robotnik's forces have placed the Zones under siege since the war started but have been unable to conquer it. The Unified Intelligence Committee has said it's "unclear if the CPZ is trying another breakout or might be trying to ally with Robotnik". More as this develops...

THIRD INSTALLMENT OF THE HUNGRY GAMES BEGINS

Mobius' new top sporting event is back for a third year, as Mobius' top greedy guts compete on live TV to see who can eat the most food. The Bean Row Zone is the new host, after local hero "Fudge" Fatty defeated El Dorado Zone's Lord Gluttony-Sloth in last year's nailbiting dessert round.

However, the Scoffing Nays pressure group has condemned the Hungry Games as "obscene". "While so many Zones are on rations, it's callous for safer ones to flaunt their surplus," said Niss the Cat.

Megadroid can't write the Control Zone today as he's, uh, still recovering from the office Christmas party - so he's asked me, the work experience guy, to do it for him!

So we've got these four strips, starting with Sonic VS Silver where Sonic has a fight with Silver! According to these notes, Silver's all grumpy that Super Sonic blows up the future - wow, he really did that? Whoa, I guess Silver better win then or Super will be running around blowing stuff up! Also, we've got a strip where Nack Requests Your Allegiance as he finds being a Zone Leader in wartime is more than he bargained on and learns the truth about Robotnik. Hey, Nack was the bad guy in Triple Trouble, right? He's a Zone Leader now? Awesome! I should really read this comic. Over in Big the Cat, Big the Cat Saves Christmas (I'm not sure you need me to explain what happens in that one). And in Sonic's World, Sonic's apparently not in it which confused me a bit but Rouge the Bat is in it as she teams up with a new partner to break into Robotnik's HQ in The Bat Who Spied Me! I wish I could team up with Rouge.

I need to delete that last sentence before print.

We've also got an STCC Zone, talking about October's Sonic The Comic Con. Yeah, Megadroid says the STCC was really fun, with old creators and live panels and a free comic with never-before-seen scripts, and the Zone has all these photos of it and everyone looks happy... Man, I wish I could've gone to STCC instead of having to photocopy stuff. At least I can buy the last STCC T-shirts from the Facebook page.

We also have the Flashback Zone and some Christmas wallpapers for your computer! I had to resize those wallpapers for Megadroid, and you know how much I get paid for this? [CENSORED BY EDITORIAL] Anyway, go find out the rest yourself, I'm checking out these back issues of the comic!

Wow, did you know Sonic has green eyes now? When did that happen...?

Oh, what's that? i've just been passed a note from one of the humes running out the door with a sack full of unwrapped presents that says we need to wish a very Happy Birthday to Jack (son of our very own James "DarkNoise" Kennedy!), who just turned ten years old. We announced his birth waaaay back in our 2004 Christmas Special. Gosh, how long has this comic been going on for?
