Welcome to Speedlines

This is the zone where you, the Boomers, get to write in with whatever you desire. With this fancy new Internet thing going, I'll be able to respond to every message we get, while sending the best ones off to the Humes for printing in each issue of Sonic the Comic – Online!

An Animated Question
Dear Megadroid,

Hello!

My name is India Swift. I'm a long time fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, and a collector of the comics. I was told by my friend Matt, an artist who sometimes works on Sonic the Comic Online, that you guys are always on the lookout for new strip artists. I'd love to draw some comic strips for any upcoming issues you have planned!

I'm also an animator, so if you guys ever wanted anything animated - a teaser trailer, or special edition comic, then I'm your gal.

Please let me know, anyway, as I would really love to be involved.

India Swift (swiftcat132)
Wow, usually we just get artist requests, but an animator? I tell you, Boomers are getting more talented every day, the Humes better start watching their backs.

The best way to get noticed for work on STC-O is to head to the Message Zone and post your work in the Graphics Zone and show face for a while, most Humes post and read there, so if you stand out, you'll be noticed! Also, try speaking to the Humes on there (They don't bite, despite all rumours!) for direction.
Good Old Megadrive
Dear Megadrive,

I mean Megadroid..even *rubs head*

Used to read STC as a kid and I got wind that it had an online version nowerdays, very nice it is too.

Robotnik was my favorite character back then, and still is now...although from what I gather he's -really- gone quite insane now has he not?

For reference, the last STC I read had Robotnik's citadel exploding in a very big way indeed.

Cheers!

Ian
That'd be Issue #100 for the Citadel Robotnik explosion, Ian! And what an issue it was too, I still get chills reading it even today. Robotnik really has lost it, but recently he is at least sane enough to speak to us and even hack the site last issue! Eek!

I do miss my old Megadrive body, but Website Hume Mike really helped me out finding me this new one.
Return of the Artist
Dear Megadroid,

I just wanted to show you a new piece of Sonic art I did. I haven't really drawn him properly in over 12 years so it was nice to draw the spiky blue ball again ;D

Hope you like it! Keep up the great work on the comic! And if any of the STC-O team are at Summer of Sonic next week, I'll see them there as I am also attending :D

Donna M Evans

Wow! That picture is pretty lush right there, Donna! Thanks for sending it to us, the Humes loved all taking a peek!

Summer of Sonic went great, a lot of the STC-Online team attended (Including me! Sorry if I wasn't talkative, my internal circuit boards were acting up!) and while I saw too many to remember, I do hope you said hello.
Dear Megadroid,

I am from America so I never was able to read the comic. I found out about the original comic a few months ago and I got really interested and then I found your website and I've been reading the issues ever since and I get excited when ever a new one comes out it's too bad you can't release them faster. By the way did you make an entry for Sonic's birthday contest? I would like to see it.

Danny
Truly those American cousins of ours are cursed to not have gotten Sonic the Comic during their childhood! But then that's why we're here, so everyone can see it now.

I personally didn't make an entry, no. I'm much too busy whipping those Humes into shape. But a good lot of our Boomers in the Message Zone did, maybe ask them?
Sega Goodness
Dear Megadroid,

Seeing as you guys are doing SEGA classics like panzer dragoon, why not other such games like Powerstone?

I'm sure doing so might interest other readers and not just the games fans.

see ya next issue

Dragonbreeder
There's no reason for us not to do any good old Sega classics (or new age ones!) Dragonbreeder. Really it's just whenever we get a script that we genuinely feel does it justice, we wouldn't want to produce a story that spoiled a potential of a series. But rest assured, more Sega series' are on the way in the future...
Virus Checker Online
Dear Megadroid,

What happened? Why was there an Egg-Virus? Who sent it? Was it Grimer?

Signed by one of your US fans,

Tailkku
Robotnik's just that evil he felt the need to try and spoil our comic, Boomer!
The Old Days
Dear Megadroid,

I've been a big fan of the comic series for many many years, starting out picking up #78 back in my local newsagent when it was fresh off the printers!

Time moved on, and I collected a massive stack of the comics - even the summer special with "How to draw Sonic!"

Regrettably, said stack was lost due to a housemate being a little underhanded (doh!) so I am without those great issues... and would actually like to see how things have come along since the earlier days! :)

Is there anywhere I can get an online copy of the older issues? I see there are back issues available online now however they don't go anywhere near as far back as I'd need :(

Anything you can suggest would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Brian
Good to see more Boomers wanting to relive the classic days! Due to those irritating Lawyer-Humes we can't post them on this site here. (I dunno why, I'd love it!) But the Message Zone often helps each other out with such things, perhaps you could try there?
Job Application
Dear Megadroid,

This is the first time that I have written into STC in any form. I just wanted to say that I am very happy to have discovered this website. It was such a shame when the original publication was cancelled. I am glad to see, however, that the original spirit of the comic is very much intact on STC-O.

With that in mind, I thought you might enjoy a couple of pics that I drew recently. I am very much interested in becoming a published Sonic artist some day. I would be happy to contribute to the comic in any form should you want me to.

Thanks for taking the time to read this email. Keep up with the good work guys!

Matt F.

Wow, there's just more and more art coming to us every issue. We really should start up a Graphics Zone again, but last time I asked the Editor Hume about it, he tried to throw his bin at me across the room. Perhaps I'll try asking the NEW Editor Hume, I heard he's nice to droids.

These are fantastic, Matt. As above, the Humes love seeing these things and it always raises a smile to see people are enjoying our work and offering to help keep it going! The best way to get involved is to head to the Message Zone and post up there or contact a Hume with an example of your work, chances are, they'll give you a test page to work on!
