Yo, Boomers!

Do you all remember the good old days before all this online madness? When each fortnight we would treat you to a selection of radical Boomer artwork sent into us over the times? Indeed, one of the budding Boomers who sent in an art piece actually became one of our big time Art Humes for STC-O, one Thalia Evans.

But it's been a while since we had any of that, now-a-days there is all things like “bandwidth” and “monthly costs” stopping us delivering the artwork we'd love to print right to you outside the Pin Up Zone itself. But for one issue, that is all going to change.

After a good deal of poking, prodding and threatening to take away their computer mice, I, Megadroid have finally gotten you Boomers a chance to have your artwork seen to the STC world. You all know issue #250 is going to be something special, so we are running a competition to get your artwork included.

The Competition

Those looking to enter have only one big rule to follow, this competition is about what STC means to you. We are looking for the artworks that embody that “Sonic the Comic Spirit” that we all came to love. Be it your favourite scene from STC history, or your favourite STC character showing their personality well or even a made up scene that captures the essence of what made that comic amazing, anything will be accepted. It doesn't even have to be Sonic! Perhaps you really loved some of the other strips that ran such as Decap Attack.

Obviously good artwork will be appreciated, but this isn't 100% about who can draw the best but rather who can deliver that “spirit” mentioned above. So even if you feel you aren't a champion professional graphic designer...give it a shot! Any form of artwork is appreciated, you could make a pencil sketch, use charcoal, digitally colour a picture, make a clay model, draw it in the sand, paint it on canvas or even on your wall. (Although STC-O definitely recommends you to check with your parents Boomers!) It's all viable as long as it's artwork.

Of all the entrants, those our panel of Humes (And myself, of course) pick out as their favourites will be displayed in a very special “Graphics Zone Comeback” for Issue #250 for all to see.

Submissions should be sent to megadroid@live.co.uk (Those rotten Humes wouldn't give me an STC-O email address! The nerve!)

Closing date for submissions is June the 30th sharp! Good luck to you all, Boomers!

Now where's those microchips...I ordered them an hour ago...
