Hey Humers!

Megadroid can’t write the Control Zone today as he’s, uh, still recovering from the office Christmas party – so he’s asked me, the work experience guy, to do it for him!

So we’ve got these four strips, starting with Sonic VS Silver where Sonic has a fight with Silver! According to these notes, Silver’s all grumpy that Super Sonic blows up the future – wow, he really did that? Whoa, I guess Silver better win then or Super will be running around blowing stuff up! Also, we’ve got a strip where Nack Requests Your Allegiance as he finds being a Zone Leader in wartime is more than he bargained on and learns the truth about Robotnik. Hey, Nack was the bad guy in Triple Trouble, right? He’s a Zone Leader now? Awesome! I should really read this comic. Over in Big the Cat, Big the Cat Saves Christmas (I’m not sure you need me to explain what happens in that one). And in Sonic’s World, Sonic’s apparently not in it which confused me a bit but Rouge the Bat is in it as she teams up with a new partner to break into Robotnik’s HQ in The Bat Who Spied Me! I wish I could team up with Rouge.

I need to delete that last sentence before print.

We’ve also got an STCC Zone, talking about October’s Sonic The Comic Con. Yeah, Megadroid says the STCC was really fun, with old creators and live panels and a free comic with never-before-seen scripts, and the Zone has all these photos of it and everyone looks happy… Man, I wish I could’ve gone to STCC instead of having to photocopy stuff.

We also have some wallpapers for your computer! I had to resize those wallpapers for Megadroid, and you know how much I get paid for this? [CENSORED BY EDITORIAL] Anyway, go find out the rest yourself, I’m checking out these back issues of the comic!

Wow, did you know Sonic has green eyes now? When did that happen…?

Oh, what’s that? i’ve just been passed a note from one of the humes running out the door with a sack full of unwrapped presents that says we need to wish a very Happy Birthday to Jack (son of our very own James “DarkNoise” Kennedy!), who just turned ten years old. We announced his birth waaaay back in our 2004 Christmas Special. Gosh, how long has this comic been going on for?

The Story So Far...

The Story So Far...

Mobius remains at war with Doctor Robotnik, who is secretly in cahoots with the Drakon Empire! The Heroes of Mobius fight to keep the planet free, but with Sonic the hedgehog still on the run, everyone is on the hunt to track him down!

Sonic

Sonic

Sonic may have a bounty out on his head, but that never stops him from heeding the call when danger appears! It’d be much easier if he could lose the nutters following his every move though…

Big the Cat

Big the Cat

A good-natured and dim-witted cat. Big owns Buddy’s Bistro restaurant, a popular eatery (and one of the secret headquarters of the freedom fighters!).

Nack the Weasel

Nack the Weasel

A treacherous and power hungry criminal, Nack has taken over the Coral Creek Zone for his own selfish whims! What will it take to bring his dastardly dictatorship to an end?

Silver

A time traveling hero sent back 70 years into his past – armed with his wrist mounted computer “AG”, this future freedom fighter is trying to stop the Iblis, a being that could destroy Mobius unless Silver can stop the demonic creature from ever existing… Only problem is, the Iblis just happens to look like a certain super powered blue hedgehog!

Detoniks

The latest diabolical scheme from the mind of Robotnik – tougher than ordinary badniks, the helpless Mobians trapped inside these machines are wired up to self destruct if Sonic uses his usual techniques to destroy them! These walking bombs need diffusing and fast!

Father Christmas

I think you know this one.

Rouge the Bat

A master spy and sneaky saboteur, Rouge’s only loyalty is to whoever is bankrolling her this week! Currently she’s working for the Drakons, though she’s been a little too preoccupied of late for their liking…

Dr. Ivo Robotnik

Kindly scientist Dr Kintobor was transformed in a lab accident to become the evil Robotnik! From the confines of his fortress, the Egg Bastion, the crazy genius is wired up to a supercomputer, courtesy of the Drakons, that allows him to target anywhere on the planet!

Coal Creek Military

The Coal Creek Zone boasts an impressive military might – Nack manipulated the General of the army into overthrowing the old leaders, allowing the greedy weasel to take over! Now with Nack in charge, the General is left trying to keep his new boss out of trouble…

The Drakon Empire

These evil aliens want to conquer the planet and have helped set up Robotnik as their pawn to do the Empire’s bidding! They are determined to get their hands on Mobius and will use whatever resources available to achieve their goals…

On Sunday October 26th 2014 at the Merchant Adventurer’s Hall in York, we hosted the very first Sonic the Comic Con (or STCC for short), a convention by STC fans for STC fans.

STCC was the culmination of months of work by our very own STC Online team and Adam ‘T-Bird’ Tuff (Whose name you may recognise from the Summer of Sonic conventions) and made possible entirely by you wonderful boomers who supported our Kickstarter campaign.

We got together a huge roster of printed STC creators (Nigel Kitching, Richard Elson, Nigel Dobbyn, Ferran Rodriguez, Carl Flint, Kev Hopgood, and Jon Haward) to come along and speak to their adoring fans, draw commissions, show off original artwork and unseen treasures, run art classes, and even take part in a couple of Q Zones to answer your questions!

The STC Online team even got involved in a very special gameshow ‘8 out of 10 Caterkillers’ and guests were treated to a live edition of Sonic the Podcast.

Lots of fun was had by all, organisers, guests, and fans alike so we thought it was about time (as a little Christmas present) we shared some of the fun with the rest of you boomers!

In this zone you’ll find photos of the event, links to a few reviews from around the web, some exclusive wallpapers, and as an extra special present: The special edition of STC we put together for the day!

We can’t thank those who contributed enough for helping us put on this event, it was a very special day and something STC deserved so enjoy some of the highlights below.

Thank you!
